The Cold Poptart™-th Nash's Corner Awards (Part 1/4 The Games)

Before we begin here are the rules of the Nash's Corner Awards:
1. Things up for nomination are things that I have consumed this year
2. Each thing receives two awards.
3. Only one thing receives the most interesting thing of the year award in lieu with the other two.
4. If you own one of these things maybe you should break out a sharpee and just draw the award on the box art or the poster or something...

With the rules out of the way let's begin with the games beginning with video

80 days:
*The ultimate choose your own adventure book
*Makes me want to get up off my ass and do something.

This game genuinely made me feel like I was going on an adventure. I loved exploring this steampunk world and meeting all the people in it. If you want just a hell of a time exploring a well written universe play this game.

Sub-surface Circular:
*Leaves you sitting there thinking
*Silent but deadly release

This game came out from the developers of Thomas was alone with little to no fan farer but really it was a fantastic mystery, you can finish it in an hour or two and all builds up to the cliche binary choice in these types of game but damn it was good.

West of Loathing:
*Dying on the floor laughing
*Best art style ever!!!

Because a game about cynical stick figs in an RPG set in the west that subverts expectations is just too much fun. But don't take my word for it, play this game and figure out what happened when the cows came home.

The Jack Box Party Pack:
*Gets me to enjoy my friends even more
*Best controller gimmick

If you want a party game that will have you spend countless hours with your friends and just see how wonderful they can be the Jack Box Party Pack is it. Play any of them if you want to enjoy an incredible evening.

ON TO THE BOARD GAMES:

Shogun:
*Too beige
*Amazing mechanic

This game looks boring but don't be fooled it might be one of the best war games of all time. It uses a simple elegant combat system that is essentially the dancer that bursts out of the cake.

At the Mountains of Madness:
*I went actually mad playing this
*Easiest way to get your friends to do stupid stuff

A co-op game where my friends have to really silly things as they succumb to Lovecraftian madness... If you know me you know I bought this one in a heart beat and it did not disappoint.

Istanbul:
*Best theme
*I'm sorry I already bought the expansion the game was so good...

So fun, running around the markets of Istanbul buying and selling good to get rubies has been one of the best games I bought last year. And the expansion Coffee and Baksheesh really add to the game.

Captain Sonar:
*You must play this game before you die
*"So it's just battle ship" "No..."

This is the most unique board game you'll ever play. You're in teams of four, you are piloting a submarine in realtime. And all you have to do is sink the other. Good luck.

AND FINNALY...

Azul:
*A game I thought I would never like
*My god when did this game get teeth

Oh my my, this game came out of no where for me. I mean an abstract tile game should be boring but this game is cut throat and ruins friendships. I love it.

See you in part 2 the Movie and the Music
